Started blog and how I found this site
by Kris on Jan.10, 2011, under PvP, PvP Bible, WarcraftFormula, WoW, WotLK Secrets, wotlk guide
After installing my Logitech G110 Gaming Keyboard I was directed to this website. I have been a avid PC gamer for 25+ years and until today I had never heard of this website. I do use a good gaming site for stat tracking at raptr.com/jdwohlever but it doesn’t have some of the features of this site. This site will be my unofficial gaming blog site where I discuss the latest games and hardware I have tried,
WoW Insider is available on your Amazon Kindle
by Kris on Oct.01, 2010, under PvP, PvP Bible, WarcraftFormula, WoW, WotLK Secrets, wotlk guide
Well, you’re in luck. WoW Insider is available on the Kindle right this very moment, and you can get it one of two ways. The first is to use the experimental browser, accessible from the main Kindle menu under “Experimental”; enter our URL or mobile address (i.WoW.joystiq.com). The browser is surprisingly nice for being on an e-reader device, and especially for being in black and white.
The second way is admittedly cooler. You can WoW-Insider/dp/B001LF3E60/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1285793479&sr=1-1″>subscribe to WoW Insider from the Blogs section of the Kindle Store for a small fee, and as long as you have a wireless connection, your Kindle will automatically update your archive of WoW Insider articles as often as we post new articles. Most formatting is intact in the Kindle blog format — the only thing missing is pictures.

Guild Wars 2: A Rewarding Experience – John Hargrove Talks About Loot
by Kris on Oct.01, 2010, under PvP, PvP Bible, WarcraftFormula, WoW, WotLK Secrets, wotlk guide

ArenaNet has rolled out some more information this week – this time about loot and armor rewards. You can check out the entire article by John Hargrove, one of the primary designers for the the rewards and item systems, here on the official blog.
For commentary, check out GuildWars2Guru.com!
John: I guess I should start by saying that since the very onset of development on Guild Wars 2 we’ve been doing our very best to identify which aspects of the original game design were successful and core to making a true Guild Wars experience. With these ideals as our foundation, we’ve been building a game that stays true to the spirit of its predecessor while simultaneously moving the genre forward. With this in mind, I’d like to delve into a few of the core item-related principals that have shaped our design of the reward mechanisms and item systems in Guild Wars 2.
The Five Core Principles
- Everybody gets a swing at the proverbial piata.
- Rewards should be worth obtaining.
- Players should look the way they want to look.
- Players should be able to look truly unique.
- Upgrading gear should be fun.

Raid Rx: Raid healing rotations and fun-ness
by Kris on Sep.25, 2010, under PvP, PvP Bible, WarcraftFormula, WoW, WotLK Secrets, wotlk guide
Do you find healing fun? Are healing “rotations” going to be needed?
I mean, obviously you find healing fun if you’ve been playing a healer for a while. You enjoy the challenges, the reflexive nature of the role, and the potential adrenaline rush. Hopefully, you’re not being forced to play a healer because your group doesn’t have enough others to do it. I know I curse myself when I screw up and let one of my players die. It’s something I take seriously because I enjoy healing.
As we’re all aware, the switch to WoW.com/2010/07/01/raid-rx-cataclysm-healing-overview/”>Cataclysm will yield a shift in healing philosophy and execution. I know some players have expressed either reluctance or caution because of fears that this new style of healing will not be fun in WoW.joystiq.com/2010/03/04/raid-rx-a-history-of-organizational-healing/#continued”>comparison to current or older models of healing.

The Daily Quest: Accessorizing
by Kris on Sep.09, 2010, under PvP, PvP Bible, WarcraftFormula, WoW, WotLK Secrets, wotlk guide
I have far too many armor sets. In fact, I have mostly completed every armor set except for tier 3, which is no longer obtainable because it existed in the original 40-man Naxxramas instance. I even have the WoWhead.com/itemset=81/the-postmaster”>Postmaster’s Set — don’t ask how long it took to farm. Needless to say, fashionable accessories are all kinds of fun, and today we’ve got some links from around the blogosphere about accessories, both virtual and otherwise:
- Like that shirt pictured above? We do, too — it’s from Lee Bretschneider of Adventuring Company, and you can preorder it at his store.
- Letters From Birdfall has a nice list of upcoming Cataclysm accessories.
- Would you like a pirate hat? Daughter of Ravenholdt Manor has a nice post about making friends with the Bloodsail.

The Daily Quest: May I help you?

Here at WoW.com, we’re on a WoW.com/category/the-daily-quest/”>Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
I have nothing helpful or clever to say here. My clever bag is empty. However, there are several people around the blogosphere that have helpful things to say:
- /ReloadUI has some suggestions for must-have addons for arena players.
- Too Many Annas offers some helpful advice to roleplayers worried about boring characters.
- Kaliope’s WoW Crafting Blog has a nice Leatherworker’s Guide for Cataclysm Buyers.
- Lastly, Brad of planetbrad threw together a helpful response to WoW.com/bloggers/rich-maloy/”>Rich Maloy’s recent WoW.com/2010/08/28/totem-talk-enhancing-your-gear-in-only-four-dungeons/”>article regarding enhancement gear for shaman, a list of all Emblem of Triumph gear currently available for purchase.

Raid Rx: 5 reasons why you’re not getting healed
by Kris on Aug.22, 2010, under PvP, PvP Bible, WarcraftFormula, WoW, WotLK Secrets, wotlk guide
You ever reach a point in the game where you just want to throw your arms up in the air, throw in the towel and cease all casting of spells related to healing? I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve been there myself on more than one occasion. Not exactly my finest moments, I’ll admit. Moments of frustration aren’t exactly legitimate reasons not to heal. But as a healer, you’ll come across moments in your healing careers where you have to make a split-second decision. Will it be action or inaction? Choose carefully, because the well-being of the raid depends on it. Sometimes inaction (or at least, not healing) is the correct choice. Besides, you might have some druids around that can bring players back to full with WoWhead.com/spell=48477″>Rebirth. (If you’re looking for some tips on the ideal usage, here’s a guest post I wrote on Rebirth procedures from the perspective of the druid, the raid leader and the player getting the resurrection.)

Choose My Adventure: Live stream of Robidin the tauren paladin
by Kris on Aug.22, 2010, under PvP, PvP Bible, WarcraftFormula, WoW, WotLK Secrets, wotlk guide
WoW.com/category/choose-my-adventure/”>Choose the adventures of the WoW.com staff as we level our characters in
It’s me again, because I live to stream. And right now, I’m streaming Robidin the tauren paladin — checking out any changes that are in Mulgore. I’ll be channeling the power of the sun in a noble, cow-like fashion. Or is it the light? We don’t have another Naaru tied up in a cave somewhere, do we? I guess I’ll find out tonight.
